I know that is has been a very long time since I last updated this and I am sorry for those of you who were looking for updates as to the ending of my adventures in Maui and how I readjusted into North American culture.  As a quick summary, we had one week of debrief in Maui, where we reunited with the base staff and our friends on the other teams.  It was a busy week filled with team celebration dinners, team debrief sessions with the base directors and personal debrief sessions as a school.  On the Wednesday night I received a lovely surprise of my mother coming to visit me and be there for my graduation.  It was so great to see her again and to have her there for that special moment meant a lot to us.  We left Maui with many tears the night after our graduation, and how my heart wanted to break.  We had truly become a family and I received many notes to read on my flights home and in the future to remind me of our experiences together.

I have been home for nearly two years now, and I'll admit that the culture shock of coming home to our consumerist society, was hard.  The hardest part of the shock was not knowing when I would see my friends from my DTS and the wonderful base staff from YWAM Maui.  Needless to say, I got over it but still miss them dearly, and have now just completed two years in Religious Studies at McMaster University.  I love Mac and the environment there.  Everyone is so friendly and I have made many new and amazing friends.
